Ride Conditions This tour is a mix of paved and unpaved roads however heavily biased to touring off road and demands a dual purpose (on-off road) motorcycle equipped with tires having a more aggressive tread pattern for off road traction. Prior off road riding experience is essential. No single track. In addition to prior off road riding experience the riders physical condition, riding skills, and tolerance to more primitive and possibly unpredictable travel scenarios may be tested.
HighlightsComplimentary Two Day Patagonia Rider Training Session
A thorough pre-Tierra del Fuego Expedition training course designed specifically to tune your skills for taking on the Patagonia. Even off road veterans will appreciate the "warm up". This is more than just a monitored practice session. You'll learn techniques that will prove invaluable and that you can apply all the way to El Fin del Mundo....and beyond!
For many, part of the experience is being able to adventure on your own motorcycle, one you have personalized in function and appearance, your mechanical companion to share the roads less traveled. MotoDiscovery continues to provide you the opportunity to experience South America on your own motorcycle by managing all the logistics and including ocean freighting your personal bike to South America and back.
An itinerary that is
authentic adventure, including the legendary Ruta 40 to the end of the earth. The Andes are your constant companion, each day offering spectacular South America scenery.
Fine dining. We consider this a hallmark of any MotoDiscovery event, a reward for a day of fun and challenging riding. Dining with MotoDiscovery is a celebration!
Experience. MotoDiscovery is a pioneer in offering motorcycle tours in this region which translates into exceptional knowledge, rich contacts and a greater degree of experience, important in a part of the world often testing the motorcycling adventurer.
Patagonia. Is there anyplace in the world that rivals its desolation? It is the home of the Gaucho, the ostrich like Nandu, a string of turquoise blue pristine glacial lakes and once the hideaway of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
Bariloche is an Alpine retreat. You could be in Bavaria!
The glaciers of Perito Moreno near Calafate will no doubt be a highlight, a spectacular 20 mile long sea of ice carving its way through the Andes, one of only a few in the world that continues to grow. Naturally, we include the entrance fee to this natural wonder.
Your tour staff? The best. People who are fun, imaginative, passionate and know how to respond to your needs. We don't lead tours...we facilitate for you the creation of the ultimate touring experience. That is the MotoDiscovery difference.
Tierra del Fuego is the goal, the town of Ushuaia, the most southern point of population on the planet.
The Estancia is the Gaucho ranch of the Patagonia and occasionally where we will spend our nights. When they see the sight of our headlights coming in the far distance, the fire is lit, the succulent lamb begins to cook and the wine corks are popped. It is "asado" time, dining Gaucho style.
