HighlightsThis tour has a strong list of great Mexico highlights but Carnaval in Veracruz is the most anticipated event of the year, with its parades, pageantry, dancing, music and 24/7 fiesta. If you are not into all the revelry you should come just to experience this great city which is one of Mexico's most historic. The massive Spanish Fortress of San Ulua, the lively Parroquia known for its rich coffee tradition, a unique cuisine and musical style all make Veracruz, even among Mexicans, a very special place.
The great pyramids and pre-Colombian city of Teotihuacan is a glimpse into Mexico's ancient past. You can climb the steps to the very heights and get a view of the magnificent city that even pre-dates the reign of the Aztecs.
The ride on the old Pan-American Highway is a motorcycling thrill and is one of the top five motorcycling roads in the country. You are literally riding along the spine of the eastern range of the Sierra Madres darting in and out of lush tropics and high pine forests.
You'll wonder at the high flying Voladores of Papantla, performing a death defying and ancient ceremonial dance high atop a pole overlooking some of the most unique archeological relics in Mexico, the city of El Tajin.
Puebla is an incredible city with a sprawling plaza, some of the most beautiful cathedrals, a world renown cuisine most notably mole, a rich sauce that you must at least sample. France laid claim to Mexico for a period of almost five years (bet you didn't know that!) and nowhere in Mexico will you feel French influence as you will in Puebla. It is here where you will be able to purchase art quality talavera, another Poblano feature.
