Highlights

You will experience the beauty and exhilaration Mexico's dramatic Copper Canyon and receive hands-on instruction from off-road racing champion Ramey "Coach" Stroud.   Your days will be a combination of classroom instruction, practice on incredible landscapes, experiencing Mexico's way of life and enjoying great food.   This is a wonderful opportunity for you to learn to ride better and have a great vacation - all in the same trip.

Coach Stroud's experience and instruction has helped many racers to the checkered flag, but more importantly, he can teach you the fundamentals of off-road touring in less-than-perfect conditions.   Whether you are an experienced off-road rider looking to brush-up, or new to the world of adventure travel, we can you help explore back roads with a smile and confidence that you've never had.

Groups are at a maximum of 8 persons to insure individual and personal attention.

Your Training Program Includes:
Session 1 Seated Endurance

We will begin with how you ride now and then build from there.   You will learn proper ergonomics (posture and muscle recruitment) to make long days easier, especially in less than perfect conditions. ramey1

Session 2 Standing to Ride: Why and How
This session involves the theory and practice of riding in the rough.   You learn about proper body mechanics: how to maintain balance and control with minimum effort.  Practice includes static training and low-speed exercises.

Session 3 Traction Management

Finding and managing traction is the key to successful off-pavement riding.   Learn what traction is all about, where to find it and how not to lose it. ramey3

Session 4 Hills, Switchbacks and Terrain

Learn the how's and why's on body position, control function and route planning on the flat, on slopes and in turns.   Then apply your skills descending into and climbing out of Mexico's Cooper Canyon.   And you thought the Grand Canyon was Big! ramey 4
